Location of Son Bou

The resort of Son Bou on the south coast of Menorca, approx 20 km and 20 minutes by car from the island's airport at Mahon.

Situated on Menorca's longest beach, a glorious 3km stretch of fine golden sands separated from the neighbouring resort of Santo Tomas by a rocky headland. The beach gently shelves into the clear blue of the water with bathing safely regulated by use of a flag system. Extensive water sports including jet skis, water skiing and pedaloe hire are available along the length of the beach. Son Bou is a relatively new development and great care has been taken to ensure that the resort with its clusters of villas and apartments has retained its pleasant green aspect with a backcloth of wooded hills and an abundance of the original woods remaining amidst extensive landscaping.

The main street in Son Bou consists of many types of restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment and it is a 5 min walk from the villa to the beach. At the centre of Son Bou is a square with shops, a supermarket, telephones and also the Club San Jaime - a popular spot with families with its bar, pizza and pasta restaurant, swimming pool and water chute.

About Menorca

Menorca is a beautiful and tranquil island. It is still considered by many as one of the few remaining authentic and accessible paradises in the Mediterranean. It is the quietest of all the Balearic islands.

The rolling farmland, magnificent cliffs and exquisite golden sands will entrance you. Menorca is often compared with our own ‘West Country’ with its red earth; dry stone walls and gently grazing fresian cattle.

Menorca is the perfect size for exploring, being only 50 x 20km approx. With roads relatively traffic free it is a pleasure to drive around the island. On one sun-drenched day it would be possible discover a deserted beach, visit some of the archaeological monuments or a museum and finish off a perfect day by dining at one of the many elegant restaurants.

Menorca is an island offering something special for everyone with many architectural splendours and archaeological surprises and reputedly 365 beaches and coves for those dedicated to worshipping the sun and sand. Perhaps one of the most intriguing aspects to the island are the many beautifully preserved megalithic monuments which continue to remain a mystery, with varying romantic stories woven about their true origin.
